Police have identified a suspect in the Monday shooting at Delta State University in Mississippi that left a professor dead, CBS News reports. As of Monday afternoon, the suspected shooter remained on the loose.
Police said the suspect is reportedly a university employee named Shannon Lamb. The coroner has confirmed that the victim was Ethan A. Schmidt, an assistant professor of American history in his 50s. Delta State University is a 3,500-student public university located about 120 miles northwest of Jackson in Cleveland, Mississippi.
