Liberal feminists are both excited and horrified by Carly Fiorina

You might call what liberal feminists have with Carly Fiorina a classic "love-hate" relationship. Fiorina, who has bravely stood up to the bullying of Donald Trump and offers a refreshing female perspective on an otherwise male-dominated Republican stage, also vocally denounces Planned Parenthood and opposes abortions, throwing feminists for an emotional loop.
"It's so weird — she looks like one of us, but she's not," author Jennifer Weiner told The New York Times. "You're on the bus with her until she starts talking about Planned Parenthood."
Others aren't fooled. "Trump's greatest damage to women was to raise sympathy for Carly Fiorina by attacking her appearance," groundbreaking feminist Gloria Steinem wrote in a Facebook post.

Another feminist, Robin Marty, presented a counterpoint to the Times: Rooting for Fiorina is like eating at McDonald's in that "you know, inherently, it's not something you should be eating, but when there's nothing else around, it's what you go and take."
Republican women, on the other hand, aren't so sure that's the case. "[Liberal feminists are] not really looking for equal representation — they're looking for more Democratic women representation," said Republican stratagist Katie Packer. Read more at The New York Times.
