J.K. Rowling: 'Voldemort was nowhere near as bad' as Donald Trump
Mark Twain once said, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; truth isn't." That statement surely rings true today to J.K. Rowling, who made it clear that her fictional Harry Potter villain, Lord Voldemort, pales in comparison to the all-too-real GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.
"How horrible," Rowling tweeted, linking to an article that showed Harry Potter fans comparing Donald Trump to Lord Voldemort after Trump called for a "complete shutdown" of Muslims traveling to the United States on the basis of their religion.
"Voldemort was never this bad," Rowling said.
