Trumbo tops this year's list of SAG nominees

As is so often the case, it seems the best way to get Hollywood's attention is to make a movie about Hollywood. The list of nominees for this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards is topped by Trumbo — a modestly reviewed, modestly received movie that happens to be based on the life of a Hollywood legend. Trumbo was nominated for Best Ensemble, Best Actor (Bryan Cranston), and Best Supporting Actress (Helen Mirren).
Behind Trumbo, there are a smattering of films that garnered two nominations apiece, including Beasts of No Nation, Spotlight, and Steve Jobs. There are no clear favorites in the TV categories, but top nominees in drama include Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Homeland, and Mad Men. Top nominees in the comedy categories include The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Orange is the New Black, and Transparent.
The SAG Awards ceremony will be held on January 30. You can read a full list of the nominees here.
