Let's hope you can keep your mutants straight, because the first trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse packs in a crazy number of them:
Apocalypse picks up in the aftermath of the previous X-Men movie, Days of Future Past. But where Days of Future Past had some fun dropping modern-day Wolverine into the groovy '70s, Apocalypse is all doom and gloom. "From the ashes of their world we'll build a better one!" bellows Oscar Isaac, unrecognizable as the titular purple-skinned mutant. He certainly cuts an imposing figure — but hey, the X-Men have already saved the world at least a half dozen times already, so they'll probably be fine.
X-Men Apocalypse hits theaters in May.
