The morning after Donald Trump won the Nevada Republican presidential caucuses, his wife Melania Trump sat down for an interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe to defend her husband against critics of his campaign, particularly on the topic of immigration. Melania told host Mika Brzezinski that she sees no problem with her husband's hardline stance on immigration despite being an immigrant herself, nor does she see how he has "insulted the Mexicans."

"He said illegal immigrants," Melania said, explaining the distinction between her husband's comments about immigrants as opposed to Mexicans in general. "He didn't talk about everybody. He talked about illegal immigrants."
