John Boehner says Ted Cruz is 'Lucifer in the flesh'
Former Speaker of the House John Boehner was exceptionally candid about his hatred for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) during a talk at Stanford University Wednesday night. Even the mere mention of Cruz's name caused Boehner to make "a face," The Stanford Daily reports.
Boehner described Cruz as "Lucifer in the flesh" in response to a question about his opinion of the presidential candidate. "I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life."
Boehner seemed to have reserved all his animosity for Cruz, as his opinions of the other two Republican presidential contenders were far more generous. He's "texting buddies" with Donald Trump, who is also a good companion for a game of golf. And even though Ohio Gov. John Kasich can be somewhat elusive, Boehner says he loves him anyway. Kasich "requires more effort on my behalf than all my other friends... but he's still my friend, and I love him,” Boehner said.
