The first presidential debate of 2016 will be held on Sept. 26 at Hofstra University in New York, moderated by Lester Holt of NBC News, and on Monday, Holt announced the three topics he has selected for discussion: America's direction, achieving prosperity, and securing America.
The Commission on Presidential Debates noted that the topics are subject to change, in case of breaking news developments. The debate will be broken up into six 15-minute segments, two segments for each topic, and will begin at 9 p.m. ET. Make sure you go to the bathroom and have your beverage of choice next to you on the couch before it starts: The 90-minute debate will air without commercial breaks.
