An unidentified gunman entered a factory in Athens, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon, killing two people before fatally shooting himself, police say.
The shooting took place inside a Thomas and Betts electrical manufacturing plant building at around 4 p.m., police say. Athens Police Chief Charles Ziegler said during a news conference that the gunman was an employee at the factory, and his body was discovered inside one of the bathrooms in the building with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The chief did not say if the shooter knew the victims or what may have led up to the incident, which is now under investigation.
