President Trump blasted Pakistan in his first tweet of 2018 on Monday:
Last week, The New York Times reported that the Trump administration is considering withholding $255 million in aid from Islamabad unless the nation cracks down on terrorist networks. Yet "Pakistan can withstand a cutoff in American aid," said the nation's former ambassador to Washington, Husain Haqqani. "It would have to be followed by something else to make Pakistan believe that Mr. Trump means business."
Trump followed up his criticism of Pakistan on Twitter by calling it a "TIME FOR CHANGE" in Iran and informing supporters that he "will be leaving Florida for Washington (D.C.) today at 4:00 P.M."
