When it came time to pick out her outfit to wear to the 90th Academy Awards on Sunday night, Rita Moreno reached way back in her closet.
The actress and singer chose the same frock she wore in 1962, when she won the best supporting actress Oscar for her turn as Anita in West Side Story. Her daughter, Fernanda Gordon, told the Los Angeles Times that more than 50 years ago, Moreno "bought the fabric herself and had an architect make it." Moreno, 86, made just one change this year, turning it into a strapless gown. "It's been hanging in my closet and I go and stroke it now and then," she told People. "It was an amazing night. They didn't have a red carpet then, it was so different." Catherine Garcia
