This year's Met Gala, with the theme "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination," was heavy on the religious overtones, from Rihanna's beaded masterpiece giving a nod to the pope to Katy Perry's giant wings transforming her into an angel in gold go-go boots.
