Trump wants Russia back in the G7
President Trump wants to make the G7 G8 again.
As he was leaving for the G7 summit Friday morning, Trump questioned why Russia was removed from the group of the world's biggest economies and called for its reinstatement, Politico and other outlets reported.
Russia was in the group until 2014, when other members expelled the country for invading and annexing Crimea in Ukraine. The U.S., Canada, the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, and Japan currently make up the G7.
Trump already made a few enemies ahead of the summit when he imposed metals tariffs on Canada and the EU last week, and they'll likely want to talk about it at this weekend's meeting.
