President Trump says he's gotten along with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), but "I don't think I will any more," because she won't give him any money for a wall along the southern border.
Trump made this prediction while being interviewed by The New York Times Thursday at the White House. He said he has basically given up on Congress reaching a deal for a wall, calling it "just a waste of money and time and energy, because it's desperately needed."
In his opinion, Pelosi is "hurting our country very badly by what she's doing and ultimately, I think I've set the table very nicely." Trump would not point-blank say he will declare a national emergency to build the wall, only telling the Times, "I've set the stage for doing what I'm going to do."
