Transfer news and rumours: Dele Alli, Mesut Ozil, Malcom, Ryan Sessegnon
The latest deals tipped to take place during the January transfer window
Dele Alli: Spurs to offer new contract
Tottenham’s biggest signing this season could be Dele Alli extending his contract. According to the Daily Mirror, the 21-year-old England midfielder is likely to be offered a £100,000-a-week deal to stay at Spurs. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are both admirers of Alli, says the Mirror, so Spurs have “made moves” to tie him to a long-term deal and make him one of the club’s highest earners.

Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright believes that Mesut Ozil would play better at Manchester United than he has at the Gunners. Speaking on The Debate, on Sky Sports, Wright said the German midfielder would be “unbelievable” alongside United’s star names. “With the players he’d be playing with at United as well, he is unbelievable,” said Wright. “He is just awesome, and with the right team, and the right movement in front of him, he is easily one of the best I’ve seen. He’s amazing.” Ozil is out of contract at the end of the season and will be able to leave on a free transfer.
Malcom: Bordeaux to Arsenal
The Times reports that Arsenal plan to meet the agent of Bordeaux star Malcom. The 20-year-old has scored seven goals in 18 Ligue 1 matches and is viewed as one of Europe’s hottest prospects. According to the newspaper, Bordeaux value the Brazilian at £45m, and the Gunners believe he would be a perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
Daniel Sturridge: Liverpool to Inter Milan
According to Sky, Inter Milan want to sign Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge. The Serie A giants would “favour a loan move” for the England striker, who has only made 14 appearances and five starts for Liverpool this season. Sky Sports reports that Southampton, Newcastle and West Ham have also shown an interest in Sturridge.
Ryan Sessegnon: Fulham to Manchester United/Tottenham
United and Spurs are both reported to be interested in Fulham’s left-back Ryan Sessegnon, but the Championship club have said the 17-year-old will not be sold anytime soon. Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan told The Daily Telegraph: “Ryan Sessegnon is staying with Fulham football club and will not be departing during this January transfer window. Ryan is a very important part of the Fulham family, and we’re grateful that he’ll be with us as we fight to achieve promotion this season.”
Diafra Sakho: West Ham to Crystal Palace
West Ham striker Diafra Sakho could become a Crystal Palace player by the end of the week, the Daily Mirror reports. The 28-year-old Senegal star wants to “end his unhappy spell” with the Hammers and make the move to their London rivals. Palace are looking to bolster their striking options, and boss Roy Hodgson sees Sakho as an ideal addition.
Theo Walcott: Arsenal to Everton
Everton are reportedly interested in Theo Walcott, with the Liverpool Echo today saying that Arsenal will ask for up to £30m for the 28-year-old forward. Walcott is also a target for former club Southampton, but Toffees boss Sam Allardyce is set on getting Walcott to join his attack after signing Turkish striker Cenk Tosun last week.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Borussia Dortmund to Beijing Guoan/Guangzhou Evergrande
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a target for a host of clubs in Europe and in the Far East, including Beijing Guoan. Today, however, Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande denied that they are interested in the Gabon star. In a statement published by ESPN, a spokesperson said Guangzhou Evergrande would not “enter a bidding war” for foreign players.
Samuel Umtiti: Barcelona to Manchester United
Barcelona star Gerard Pique says that teammate Samuel Umtiti is happy at Barcelona, insisting the Frenchman will stay at the Camp Nou for “many more years”, reports Metro. Manchester United are interested in Umtiti, who reportedly has a £55m release clause in his Barcelona contract.
