Obama: 'You've made enough money'
Conservatives criticized Obama for his off-handed remark that "at some point, you've made enough money." Did he just out himself as an anti-capitalist?
Pushing for Wall Street reform at an Illinois rally, President Obama went off-script: "I do think at a certain point you've made enough money, but you know, part of the American way is, you can just keep on making it if you're providing a good product." Conservatives pounced. "Easy for him to say" you've made enough money, says J.P. Freire in The Washington Examiner, when he pulled in $5.5 million last year. Apparently, he just does't get that "a free people work for themselves, not for the government," sighs Hot Air's Ed Morrissey. Oh, please, says James Johnson at IndyPosted. Obama's not trying to take your cash, he's just saying he "personally sees no need to earn massive amounts of money." What was the point of his remark? Judge for yourself:
