Facebook down, MBAs out of luck

Good day for taking a break from Facebook, Bad day for graduating from business school

Good day for: Taking a break from Facebook, as a new phishing scam hit Facebook users on Thursday. Targets received messages from friends with a subject line of "Hello" and a prompt to check out "areps.at" or another link, and the scammers stole the email and password information of anyone who logged in. Some users also reported that Facebook went down for part of the day, although it was unclear whether the phishing scam disrupted service. (CNET News)

Bad day for: Graduating from business school, as recruiters only plan to average six MBAs this year -- half as many as they did in 2008. But some newly minted executives say they don’t mind, because the financial crisis has dampened their eagerness to work at big financial firms. “Big established brands don’t really mean as much as they used to,” said UCLA MBA student Kunal Agarwal.
