GOOD DAY FOR: Keeping connected, as voice-over-Internet firm Skype and social-networking site MySpace announced a deal that will add free Skype calling to MySpace’s messaging application. Starting in November, MySpace users will be able to call a member in their network with a single click, even if the member is offline. (AP in BusinessWeek.com)
BAD DAY FOR: Old media, as Scripps announced plans to split its booming cable TV and Internet units from its newspaper holdings.
