Microsoft has at last given up on trying to shake off the dated stigma associated with Internet Explorer. The tech company announced Monday that it is phasing out the maligned browser as it focuses all of its energy on the debut of Project Spartan, Microsoft's as-yet-unnamed "new" browser that will debut on Windows 10.

Project Spartan will be the default browser for Windows 10 products — though Explorer will still be included on some models to ensure compatibility — so we'll have to wait 'til it debuts later this year to see how the new browser stacks up.
