In a press conference Monday, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R) announced that he has been diagnosed with "a very advanced and very aggressive" form of lymphoma. Hogan had returned early from a trade mission in Asia nearly two weeks ago, citing illness, and has skipped many obligations since.

Hogan said his cancer is "very advanced stage 3, if not stage 4," and he will begin chemotherapy in the coming months. He will continue to serve as Maryland's governor, a position he won in one of the biggest upsets of the 2014 elections.
