The man who allegedly shot at Philadelphia police officer Jesse Hartnett 13 times while he sat in his police cruiser has since pledged his loyalty to ISIS.

"This guy tried to execute the police officer," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross said Friday, adding that the suspect, who was quickly apprehended after the attack, confessed he attacked the officer in the name of Islam. Hartnett, who is in stable condition, was hit three times in the arm but was still able to fire at the gunman as he attempted to flee the scene.
