The chaos of the House's gun-control 'sit-in,' in 1 photo

Democrats stage a sit-in on the House floor until they are granted a vote on a gun control bill.

For approximately 16 hours, House Democrats literally sat on the floor of the lower chamber to demand a vote on gun-control bills. The C-SPAN cameras that usually broadcast a feed of the chamber's proceedings to the public were turned off, which led some members of Congress to live-stream the events on their personal social media accounts. At one point during the heated standoff — which almost came to blows between lawmakers — House Speaker Paul Ryan took his place at the front of the chamber while members of the House waved papers bearing the names of gun victims at him:
