New York Fashion Week ends with Marc Jacobs controversy

Thursday was the ninth and final day of New York Fashion Week for the spring/summer 2017 season. As is customary, the last day of festivities featured the Marc Jacobs runway show; the designer debuted looks at the Hammerstein Ballroom that were "a mix of raver and Harajuku schoolgirl, with a hint of royalty," The Cut wrote.

The Marc Jacobs show came under a bit of fire, however, for its use of fake dreadlocks — spun out of wool and hand-dyed by a mother-daughter Etsy team — to style white models. While the show's hairstylist Guido Palau told The Cut that the look was not inspired by Rasta culture, the frustration was summed up by several Twitter users:
