Tambour Horizon: Louis Vuitton's 'luxurious' smartwatch
New connected watch blends the company's iconic patterns with a high-tech touch
Smartwatches are rapidly gaining popularity in the watch industry, with companies including TAG Heuer and Gucci all launching connect timepieces for those looking for a luxurious alternative to the Apple Watch.
The most recent company to join the smartwatch troop is Louis Vuitton, with its new Tambour Horizon blending the firm's signature styling with an Android-powered interface.
Its design comes from the Tambour Moon case, a "sleeker" tweak to the older drum-like Tambour model, that recently appeared on Louis Vuitton's analogue watches, says the Daily Telegraph.

The watch comes with a 1.2ins OLED face that sits in a stainless steel body, says Engadget. As users interact with the watch through Android Wear 2.0, the face can easily be changed without needing to buy a new timepiece.
Louis Vuitton has designed an array of different watch faces, all featuring unique styles that can be personalised with different colours and information. For instance, the My Flight face tracks the user's flight schedule, altering them when their next flight is and when boarding begins.
Along with the customisable display is "a variety of luxurious strap options", says the Daily Telegraph. Each strap costs an additional £235, with many featuring the firm's iconic patterns.
Prices start at £1,905 for a stainless steel-bodied Tambour Horizon, adds the newspaper, which rises to £2,140 one a strap has been chosen.
While the device runs Android Wear 2.0, the Tambour Horizon can be synced to an Apple smartphone.
