Buying energy for your business: making the right choice
Deciding on an energy strategy is a big decision, but E.ON can help guide you to the best option for your company
When it comes to buying energy for your business, the wide range of options available can make it hard to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. Fortunately, E.ON has a number of products and tools to help you find the best strategy that’s tailored to your company’s needs.
The long-term option
If you know exactly what you want, and are confident that the needs of your business won't change for the foreseeable future, you may want to opt for a long-term deal. Five-year contracts can provide more continuity and peace of mind than you would have with a 12 or 24-month contract, and will also save the hassle of regular contract renewals.

The flexible option
Flexible purchasing offers a number of benefits, particularly to businesses whose energy needs may vary over time. You can buy either a month, a quarter, or a season's worth of energy – and you don't necessarily have to buy them in sequence. For example, if you know that your company's demand for power will be exceptionally high in December, you may wish to lock in a price for that period now so that you can budget for it, while waiting to see whether prices will move up or down before buying energy for low-demand late summer months. Although regarded as a riskier choice, this energy option can provide certainty for about half your budget as well as the chance to make the most of changing market conditions. For some types of business, that may be less of a risk than setting long-term energy costs based on one day's pricing.
The green option
Do you want to establish your business's green credentials? For companies seeking to offset or reduce their carbon footprints, E.ON can supply energy that comes from a renewable source, such as wind or solar power. As well as being good for the environment, these tariffs can be good for business too.
Transparency
Regardless of which option you choose, E.ON helps to make the decision process as straightforward as possible. Each customer is allocated an Account Manager who can assess the needs of individual businesses and help match them to a suitable energy package.
Through transparent pricing and a monthly E.ON Market Report, E.ON helps business leaders keep themselves abreast of critical market developments – and the energy plans that best meet their companies' needs.
