Nicole Kidman doesn’t miss Hollywood, said Sam Kashner in Vanity Fair. The actress fled Los Angeles after marrying country music star Keith Urban in 2006, and now happily lives out an “idiosyncratic” existence with him and their two children in Nashville. “People find it very strange, I think,” she says. “But I love living in the South.” Part of the attraction was being able to escape the intense scrutiny she experienced while she was married to Tom Cruise. “I didn’t find what I was looking for in fame,” she says. “So I went, ‘Okay, this is not for me.’ And it was such a blessing that I found somebody who said, ‘Well, are you willing to move to Tennessee? And I was ‘Oh, am I willing to move!’” In Nashville, it’s Urban who’s the icon—not Kidman. But she’s more than happy to revolve most of her life around his career and their family. “No disrespect to what I had with Tom, but I’ve met my great love now. We’re incredibly connected as a family—we’re very, very tight.” When not in Nashville, the family spends its time on Urban’s tour bus, traveling across America. “I’ve been to Alabama and Indianapolis, and St. Louis, Detroit—yeah, we go all over!”
