1. Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters in December 2015
We don't know much about the upcoming Star Wars sequel, but we do know when we'll be able to see it. In an announcement on Thursday, Lucasfilm revealed that Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters on December 18, 2015 — just in time for every other studio to desperately find some other time to release all the movies they had planned for December 2015. 2. The sort-of sequel to 10 Things I Hate About You is back on
Hollywood has made no small amount of money by taking 90s nostalgia and selling it back to us in bite-sized chunks, but director Gil Junger's 10 Things I Hate About Life might be the sneakiest marketing ploy yet. The film, which has been on hold for a year and is now beginning production again, clearly hearkens back to Junger's 1999 hit 10 Things I Hate About You, though it features none of the same actors and a story that merely "advances the situations" of the original. Junger continues to insist that the movie isn't technically a sequel to 10 Things I Hate About You — if only because there's no word for "movie that shamelessly cashes in on a beloved comedy by borrowing its title." In an unforgivable slip-up that E! Online had the good sense to immediately call her out on, the Duchess of Cambridge, aka Kate Middleton, had the gall to wear the same red L.K. Bennett coat on two separate occasions within two years (though she did, thank God, remember to change belts). "In news that should surprise no one, Kate Middleton has recycled yet another look," sneered someone who was actually paid to write a whole article about this. [E! Online]

4. Matt Lauer and Al Roker got on-air prostate exams
In recent years, The Today Show has faced increasingly stiff competition from rival Good Morning America. Fortunately, the show has found the perfect way to fix its ratings woes: On-air prostate exam! On this morning's episode, Matt Lauer and Al Roker consented to get the admittedly important examination on television. "We came to watch The Prostate Movie!" laughed co-host Hoda Kotb, which makes her the only person in America who actually wanted to see it. [Deadline]

5. The Minnesota Timberwolves are giving away the first season of HBO's Girls
Today, in a story that would probably make a pretty good Girls episode: The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced a special promotional "Ladies Night Out" ticket that comes with a drink and, for no comprehensible reason, the first season of HBO's Girls on DVD. Slice of cake, footie pajamas, and naked ping pong set are, sadly, sold separately. [UPROXX]
