Show of the week: Nova: Ground Zero Supertower
America’s tallest skyscraper is nearing completion.
America’s tallest skyscraper is nearing completion. Risen from the ashes of 9/11, One World Trade Center has stood at its full height of 1,776 feet since May, and the interior is expected to be ready for tenants next year. In this follow-up to the Emmy-nominated Engineering Ground Zero, cameras bring viewers inside the structure to reveal the struggles of engineers and architects to erect a modern office tower that must also serve as fitting memorial to one of the most tragic days in national history. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 9 p.m., PBS; check local listings
