Gossip: Reese Witherspoon
The actress was charged with disorderly conduct last week.
Actress Reese Witherspoon was charged with disorderly conduct last week when she mouthed off to a police officer who had pulled over her husband for drunk driving. “Do you know my name?” Witherspoon asked the cop after he gave her husband, talent agent Jim Toth, a Breathalyzer (which he allegedly failed, blowing a 0.139). When the cop told her to return quietly to the vehicle, the police report said, Witherspoon shot back, “You’re about to find out who I am. You are going to be on national news.” She was then arrested and spent several hours in jail. When the news about her comments emerged, Witherspoon apologized, saying, “I clearly had one drink too many, and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said.”
