If you can stand the irritating camerawork, you might enjoy bits of this “bombastic” musical, said the New York Post. Hugh Jackman flaunts serious singing talent as a man trying to escape his past. Better still is Anne Hathaway—in her Oscar-winning turn as a doomed Parisian prostitute.

Lincoln

(DreamWorks, $30)

Daniel Day-Lewis recently took home a record third Best Actor Oscar for his performance in this talky but dynamic Steven Spielberg film, said USA Today. He so embodies the look and spirit of Abraham Lincoln that “it’s as if historical footage has been unearthed.” (March 26)
