The daily gossip: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo sequel may dump Daniel Craig, and more
5 top pieces of celebrity gossip — from Beyonce's real National Anthem performance to Martin Sheen's flip-flop on Zero Dark Thirty
1. Daniel Craig might not be in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo sequel
Fans of 2011's Hollywood adaptation of Stieg Larsson's bestselling The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo probably remember seeing Daniel Craig in it — he was, after all, the main character. But according to a source at The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is willing to "write the character out of the sequel" over concerns over the film's budget. Craig reportedly wants a pay raise to appear in The Girl Who Played With Fire due to the success of his latest James Bond film, Skyfall. If the budget cuts continue, viewers can presumably look forward to an even smaller-scale version of the film (we humbly suggest The Girl Who Touched the Hot Stove).

Anyone who somehow doubted that multi-platinum singer Beyonce Knowles is capable of singing the National Anthem after her lip-synced performance on Inauguration Day can finally can rest easy: At a Super Bowl Press conference on Thursday afternoon, Beyonce opened with a live performance (or a very convincing lip-sync.) "Does anybody have any questions?" said Beyonce after the performance, somehow resisting the urge to drop the mic. "I will absolutely be singing live [at the Super Bowl]. I always sing live," she added, roughly five minutes after admitting to lip-syncing at the presidential inauguration.
3. Denzel Washington says Safe House 2 is "dead"
In a recent interview with The Film Stage, Denzel Washington revealed that a possible sequel to his action thriller Safe House is unlikely to happen — thereby reminding everyone that the first Safe House existed. "I think [Safe House 2] is dead," confirmed Washington. With Safe House 2 put out to pasture, movie fans can go back to forgetting about Safe House, until they stumble onto it six months from now at 2 A.M. on HBO.

Earlier this month, Martin Sheen was included in a widely circulated list of actors encouraging Academy members not to vote Zero Dark Thirty for Best Picture. Now Sheen insists that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding. Zero Dark Thirty did a "great, great service to the issue" of torture by shining a light on it, says Sheen at The Hollywood Reporter. Sheen is now urging his peers to "follow their conscience" — which will surely move all the Academy voters who planned to defy their own consciences initially.
5. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have entered the high school phase of their relationship
Today, in the high school cafeteria that is the celebrity gossip world: Kristen Stewart is, like, totally mad at Robert Pattinson for blowing her off. "Kristen is angry with him because she thinks he's not giving her enough attention," dishes a source at Radar Online, perhaps through a note passed while the teacher's back was turned. "She's told him off and said she wants more messages, updates… anything… so she doesn't feel forgotten about!" It remains unclear whether Pattinson has even asked Stewart to prom yet.
