Gossip: Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler
Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are leaving American Idol.
Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler are leaving American Idol, said the Daily Mail (U.K.). The Aerosmith front man, 64, and the singer and actress, 42, announced their respective departures to refocus on their careers last week. Conflicting reports, however, indicate they may have been dropped from the show by Fox network execs reluctant to grant Lopez a $2 million salary increase and eager to revamp the talent show after ratings dropped precipitously last season. Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Mary J. Blige are reportedly being considered as replacements.
