Tip of the week: How to get perfect eyebrows
Tend them yourself, mostly; Know the rules; Be gentle
Tend them yourself, mostly. On fashion runways, eyebrows have been “back in a big way” this year. Don’t feel like you need to have your brows done professionally all the time to keep up—once a year is enough to show a woman how her eyebrows should look when maintained.
Know the rules. Each brow should start a bit closer to the nose than the eye does, and thickness should be even across its length. “There’s nothing worse than a tadpole sitting on top of your eyes.” Also, don’t worry about making the brows perfectly identical: “Eyebrows are sisters, not twins.”
Be gentle. Pluck only a few hairs at a time, so change is never drastic. It’s best to pluck after a shower, when pores are open. To ward off redness, use a “soothing” aloe vera gel when you’re done and for a few days afterward.
