A new record for Broadway
The Lion King has dethroned The Phantom of the Opera to become Broadway’s all-time highest grossing show. Cumulative box-office receipts for the Disney megahit are now $853.8 million to Phantom’s $853.1 million. The Lion King’s pricier tickets and bigger theater pushed it past the longest-running show on Broadway, despite opening nearly 10 years after Phantom’s 1988 debut.

Low repurchase rate among hybrid car owners
Hybrid car owners appear to be a fickle bunch. Only 35 percent of them chose to buy another hybrid model when they returned to dealerships last year, according to R.L. Polk & Co., an automotive consulting firm. If loyal Toyota Prius buyers are factored out, the repurchase rate falls below 25 percent.

A new owner for Buford
The town of Buford, Wyo., population 1, was sold to an unidentified Vietnamese businessman last week for $900,000. Don Sammons, the town’s owner since 1992 and sole resident since 2006, said he auctioned off the 10-plus acres, including a convenience store and gas station, to see what “other adventures I have in store.”
