Gossip: Manny Ramirez
The 12-time All-Star was arrested on battery charges this week.
Former baseball slugger Manny Ramirez was arrested on battery charges this week, said the New York Daily News. The 12-time All-Star was cuffed and taken from his home in Weston, Fla., by police, who responded to a call from Ramirez’s wife, Juliana, alleging he’d slapped her in the face during an altercation. Ramirez played 18 seasons in the major leagues before retiring this spring after a third positive test for performance-enhancing drugs. He denied the charge.
