At the tender age of 23, Lionel Messi is still a few years away from what is most soccer players' prime. But the Argentine prodigy is already widely recognized as the world's best and most exciting player. "Messi is the great one," says Gabriele Marcotti at The Wall Street Journal. His almost magical ballhandling and spectacular breakaway goals have made him a YouTube sensation (see one compilation here). And his skills are as easy to spot on a stat sheet as they are on instant replay. His latest feat: Messi is on track to smash a Spanish league record for most goals in a single season.
