Wal-Mart was accused of racism for pricing black Barbie dolls cheaper than white Barbie dolls. A photo circulated on the Internet showed a rack of dark-skinned Barbies at one Wal-Mart store with $3 price tags beside a rack of blond, light-skinned dolls priced at $5.93. Wal-Mart said the different prices were the result of “inventory management,” but activists accused the chain of insensitivity for “devaluing the black doll.”

A New York woman is suing a wig store for damages, claiming her foot was injured by a falling mannequin head. Germaine McDonald, 40, says the head inflicted permanent nerve damage in her foot.
