Bruce Springsteen drew the ire of fans at a concert performance in Michigan this week when he repeatedly said he was happy to be in Ohio. Springsteen was corrected after the third Ohio reference by guitarist Steven Van Zandt, who told Rolling Stone he was worried that the offended crowd “was going to attack us.” Springsteen apologized profusely to the fans, calling the flub “every frontman’s nightmare,” and made a point to emphasize the word “Michigan” for the duration of the show.
