Pink’s domestic drama

“We were like rams, not knowing how not to butt heads,” said Pink about her marriage with Carey Hart.

Pink has an unusually tempestuous marriage, says Gavin Edwards in Rolling Stone. Almost from the moment the flamboyant rocker wed motocross pro Carey Hart in January 2006, the pattern was set. “Carey wanted to have a quickie, and I left a cigarette burning on an oven mitt. I set my bedroom on fire.” At a long drunken Thanksgiving with Hart’s family, she dumped a bowl of sweet potatoes on him. What Pink calls a “total food fight” ensued. When a furious Hart tried to drive away, Pink grabbed a knife and tried slashing his car tires. Instead, she cut open her hand. On Valentine’s Day 2008, they decided to split up for good. “We were like rams, not knowing how not to butt heads.” Then, just as Pink readied her divorce papers, Hart asked for a reconciliation. “He told me he couldn’t live without me, and I told him to tell me in the morning. When we woke up, he pulled me over and said, ‘It’s morning—I love you.’” They still have wounds. “But that’s how we deal with them—we pour salt in them. ‘Does that still hurt? Just checking. Does the lemon hurt? Love you, baby. Let’s try sandpaper next time.’” Grinning, she says, “There’s nothing wrong with passion.”
