Carrie Prejean has filed suit against the Miss California USA organization, claiming defamation and religious discrimination. Prejean, 22, was removed from her post as Miss California USA in June, two months after she said during the competition that she opposed gay marriage. Court documents allege pageant officials had “conspired to get rid of” Prejean after she gave an interview to the Today show defending her evangelical Christian beliefs.
