The Welsh actor Christian Bale, who plays Batman in the new film The Dark Knight, was arrested this week on charges he assaulted his mother and sister in a London hotel room. The women, 61 and 40, reported the crime themselves. Police allowed Bale to attend the movie’s European premiere and to hold a series of press conferences, said the London Guardian. He turned himself in at the police station the following day.
