Teen bus thief charged
The week's news at a glance.
Orlando, Fla.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested this week after he allegedly stole an Orlando city bus and drove it along its route, collecting passengers and fares as he went. Ritchie Calvin Davis allegedly took a bus from a lot in Orlando, where it was awaiting sale at an auction. Witnesses said he drove at normal speeds, stopping for at least three passengers along one of Orlando’s Lynx public transit routes. One passenger, suspicious of Davis’ youthful looks, called police from the bus. “I drove that bus better than most of the Lynx drivers could,” Davis reportedly told police. He has been charged with grand theft auto and driving without a license.
