The true heir of Lenin is Bush
The week's news at a glance.

Aleksandr Tsipko
Rossiiskaya Gazeta
The Americans are the new Bolsheviks, said Aleksandr Tsipko in Moscow’s Rossiiskaya Gazeta. President Bush’s project of “exporting democracy” uses the methods that V.I. Lenin developed to “export communist revolution.” Just look at the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, which was carefully orchestrated by American agents. It followed Lenin’s classic formula for armed uprising: Exploit the romanticism of youth, recruit young troublemakers, and lead the masses to seize the parliament building and the presidential palace. “In what way is the current U.S. foreign policy different from that of Lenin’s and the Soviet Union’s?” In its day, the USSR sought formal relations with capitalist countries while secretly funding revolutionaries to overthrow them. In our times, Bush calls Putin his friend while U.S. agencies are “actively working to build up anti-Putin opposition.” This is a dangerous practice that “openly threatens the sovereignty and political stability of Russia.” To save our democracy, we will have to crack down on any politician or party supported by foreigners.
