Hemingway tale found

Christie’s auction house this week announced plans to sell a previously unknown manuscript by Ernest Hemingway. But the 1924 short story about a bloody bullfight cannot be published unless Hemingway’s estate gives permission, which so far it has declined to do. The tale was discovered, along with a handwritten letter, among the papers of Hemingway’s friend writer Donald Ogden Stewart. Stewart’s son said the story was an interesting artifact of Hemingway’s early career, but not a masterpiece. He described “My Life in the Bull Ring With Donald Ogden Stewart” as a comic version of the Hemingway myth: “A heroic man with a lot of hair on his chest.”
