London
Police have arrested seven men and two women on suspicion of plotting to kidnap singer Victoria Beckham, after a group of tabloid reporters exposed the plot. The News of the World said its reporters had infiltrated a gang of Romanian and Albanian kidnappers who planned to nab Beckham, better known as Posh of the Spice Girls, outside her London home. The gang also planned to take Brooklyn and Romeo, her sons with husband David Beckham, Britain’s biggest soccer star. “I’m in absolute and total shock,” said Posh. “It’s clear these people were serious, and that, of course, has scared the life out of me.”
