Harry Kane has hit back at claims that he dived to try and win a late penalty in yesterday’s north London derby against Arsenal.
In the 85th minute of the 2-2 draw at the Emirates Tottenham striker Kane went to ground inside the area following a challenge from Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

Kane was denied the late penalty shout and after the match The Times, The Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail all quoted the England captain who insisted he did not dive.
“The defender made a tired tackle and if that had happened on the halfway line I think it’s a definite foul,” said Kane, who scored Tottenham’s second goal from a penalty in the 2-2 draw.
“The ref probably thinks I was looking for it but he came through the back of me. It was 50-50 but VAR would probably have backed the ref in this anyway.”
