Champions League quarter-finals: results
Liverpool, Roma, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid secure their spots in the last four
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have joined Liverpool and Roma in the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool took a 3-0 lead to the Etihad Stadium for the second leg against City and despite going one down after two minutes the Reds battled back to win 2-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate. After Gabriel Jesus had given City the early lead, Liverpool goal machine Mohamed Salah equalised after 56 minutes before Roberto Firmino settled the tie after 77 minutes.
In Italy Roma secured their semi-final place with a memorable victory against Barcelona. After losing 4-1 in Spain last week, Roma’s hopes of progressing were slim. But goals from Edin Dzeko, Daniele De Rossi (penalty) and Kostas Manolas gave Roma the 3-0 victory needed to go through on away goals.
