Chelsea and Real Madrid could have much to discuss in the coming weeks with Zinedine Zidane and Antonio Conte ready to trade stars in the new year.

First up there is the Daily Star’s claim that Real are ready to give the Blues Gareth Bale if they get Eden Hazard in return. The Belgian playmaker has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu in recent months and the Star says Zidane believes he could get his man if he offers Chelsea the injury-prone Bale.

Citing Spanish outlet Diario Gol as its source, the Star says that Zidane is “desperate” to sign the 26-year-old Hazard and the rumours emanating from Stamford Bridge suggest he would like favourably on a move to the Spanish capital. Apparently Zidane and Hazard “are in regular contact and exchange messages often”.

As for Bale, who made his return from his latest injury in last night’s Copa del Rey tie against Fuenlabrada, he is said to be keen to return to the Premier League.

Manchester United and Tottenham have reportedly expressed an interest in giving Bale a home but a straight swap could be the cleanest and quickest solution for the Welsh winger.

From Welsh wingers to Brazilian blockers and The Sun’s assertion that David Luiz is looking to leave the Bridge after being axed by Conte. Currently struggling with a knee problem, the defender has fallen out of favour with the Chelsea manager and now he’s thinking of a fresh start in Madrid.

French broadcaster RMC Sport claim that the 30-year-old “could join Zinedine Zidane’s side this winter”.

Luis rejoined Chelsea in the summer of 2016 after a brief stint with Paris Saint-Germain but he’s now allegedly “in discussions with the Spanish champions” and if they make him an offer he is expected to be on his way in a matter of weeks.
