Annual toilet race held in US
And other stories from the stranger side of life
The annual toilet race was held in the town of Conconully, Washington. For 42 years, competitors have built outhouses with a toilet, a loo roll, and a competitor inside equipped with a helmet. Graeme is a ‘cool’ name
A man called Graeme insisted his name is “cool” and hopes it will make a comeback after it was declared extinct last year. Graeme was one of seven male names labelled “extinct” by Babbel in a study but, speaking to Metro, Graeme Currie, a retail assistant, said: “I think it’s kind of a cool name. I was noticing a lot of younger people had different names and it was like Graeme seemed to be rarer.”
Memory lapse wins man double jackpot
A man who couldn’t remember if he had already bought a lottery ticket ended up with two identical tickets and won two jackpots, reported UPI. The Michigan man said he was at a petrol station when he couldn’t remember if he already had a ticket for the draw, so he “decided to purchase one to be safe”. After realising he had bought two, he noticed on the lottery website the two locations where winning tickets were sold. “I knew I had to be the big winner,” he said.
