Orangutan granted personhood moves to new home
A 33-year-old orangutan granted legal personhood by a judge is settling into her new home in Florida. Sandra is described as “very sweet and inquisitive” by a worker at the Center for Great Apes. The judge told the Associated Press that the ruling shows that animals are “sentient beings and that the first right they have is our obligation to respect them”.

Sex toys worth £1m stolen from rear of truck
Thieves have stolen £1 million worth of sex toys from the back of a delivery truck. The saucy assortment was due to be delivered to Rocks-Off Ltd in Northamptonshire, but was stolen from a lay-by while the driver slept. Metro warns that the culprits could receive a “stiff sentence”.
